Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development with hands-on coding in multiple languages such as JavaScript, Node.js, Java, and Python Strong experience building scalable backend systems and distributed platforms Preferred Experience: Proven experience designing and developing features for large-scale applications using Java- and Node.js-based services Solid understanding of writing unit tests to ensure robustness, including edge cases, usability, and overall reliability Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps practices is a plus Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and Claude to enhance development productivity and automation Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features Strong debugging skills with experience in bug fixing and improving application performance Experience integrating with external data sources and APIs Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Proactive mindset toward learning and adopting new technologies to improve development efficiency Proven expertise in Java and Node.js development Experience translating wireframes into pixel-perfect user interfaces, with knowledge of animations and screen transitions Experience working with remote data via REST and GraphQL APIs, JSON, HTTP protocols, and push notification services such as Google Cloud Messaging Experience building consumer-facing applications, preferably in eCommerce or retail environments Soft Skills: Being a team player, critical thinker, and exhibiting problem-solving skills Having optimal time-management skills and interpersonal and communication skills Eagerness to help shape the direction of FE development at Walmart Dedication to continue to learn, grow, and help Walmart tackle brand new challenges Collaborating with UI and UX Designers, as well as Software Testers, to ensure that each app is presentable and in perfect working order.
